THURSDAY, Oct. 3 (HealthDay News) -- HealthDay, a leading producer and syndicator of evidence-based health news, is pleased to announce its recent hire of Reyna Machado who has joined the company as Marketing Services Manager. Machado will be based in HealthDay's Melville, LI office.

"HealthDay is about to launch some new products and it's great to have Reyna on board to manage our marketing and promotion efforts. This is an important time for HealthDay and we we're excited to have an experienced and energetic marketing professional leading the way," according to Healthday CEO Dan McKillen.

Machado has served in marketing and communication roles for universities, non-profits and private organizations. At HealthDay, she will oversee corporate communications, media relations, and brand marketing. She also works with the HealthDay staff on campaign execution and new product launches.

Prior to joining HealthDay, Machado oversaw student enrollment, media relations, and marketing at IvyWise, an education consulting company based in Manhattan. She was also a Marketing Consultant at the Girl Scouts of the USA in New York City and managed advertorial media efforts for their 100th Anniversary. She previously served as Assistant Director of Development at Georgetown University in Washington, DC where she focused on leadership gifts and event planning.

Machado received her BA and MA from George Washington University and her MBA in marketing from American University. Outside of HealthDay, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and distance running.
