A Better Sweater

Which material is most efficient?

(HealthDayNews) -- All your sweaters look toasty and warm, but which one is really perfect for a cold winter day: a fleecy one or a knit?

It depends what you plan to do, says the journal, Arctic Medical Research. If you don't plan on heavy activity, fleece and knits are about equal for warmth.

But if you're going to be really active -- shoveling snow or cross country skiing -- you'll be better off with the fleece. If you work up a sweat, the fleece won't hold the moisture and will stay lighter and maintain the air layer better.
