Medical Review

HealthDay Commitment to Medical Accuracy

HealthDay is committed to maintaining the highest levels of medical accuracy and integrity while also continuing to strive to be first to market with the latest health news. These twin objectives drive the decision making on how we approach medical review of our content.

Medical Review Process

HealthDay's Medical Review Team will evaluate articles for scientific accuracy and integrity where appropriate. Our Editors assign content for medical review except in the case of our Consumer News Feed/HealthDay TV, both for English and Spanish versions, where our objective is being first to market with evidence-based factual reporting on breaking public health issues. All Consumer News Feed articles still follow our strict Fact Check Guidelines. Professional content goes to our Medical Review Team unless the content is not medical in nature. Our medical reviewers check all content to ensure accuracy, to confirm that the content is neither misleading nor neglects to point out any critical medical considerations and adheres to the latest guidelines and research on that topic.

The Medical Review Team examines the content to ensure that the stories follow the current standard of care (as determined by diagnostic and treatment guidelines), are accurate and up-to-date with best medical practices and are supported by up-to-date research. Our goal is for the content to reflect current clinical best practices between patients and their healthcare providers.

Fact Check Policy

In addition, all of our content follows our strict fact check policy. You can review this process here.
