Prevent drowning where you live

(HealthDayNews) -- According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, small children can drown in as little as one inch of water.

Here are some safety tips:

  • Empty all buckets and bathtubs after each use.
  • Keep your kids out of the bathroom unless you're with them. Instruct others to keep the bathroom door closed.
  • Never leave your child alone in the bathtub or in the care of another child.
  • Use a firm, lockable cover on a hot tub or spa.
