TUESDAY, Sept. 11 (HealthDay News) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of a dietary supplement known as Zencore Tabs due to the presence of analogs of the erectile dysfunction drugs tadalafil and sildenafil. These undeclared ingredients may interact with nitrates found in prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin.
Zencore is a product of Bodee LLC, Inc., which initiated the voluntary nationwide recall after the FDA performed a laboratory analysis of Zencore Tabs. The FDA found that the supplements contained the tadalafil analog aminotadalafil, sildenafil, and the sildenafil analogs sulfosildenafil and sulfohomosildenafil.
The supplements were sold in the United States and Canada in health food stories and by mail order. They are packaged in two-supplement blister packs in a retail booklet. Five booklets were sold per box.
"Consumers who have this product should stop using it immediately and consult their health care professional if they experience any problems that may be due to this product," according to an FDA statement.
