(HealthDay) -- Knowing the warning signs of a heart attack can stave off serious damage to your heart, or even death.
The LaPeer County (Mich.) EMS says the signs include:
- mild pressure on the right side of your chest or an aching or burning that comes and goes;
- discomfort in your chest that is similar to indigestion;
- chest discomfort that worsens with activity,
- and discomfort in your chest accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating or flu-like symptoms.
The EMS group says if you feel any of the symptoms, get checked by a doctor right away. Catching a heart attack early can minimize the damage it causes.
