Researchers found 2-3 days of regular physical activity totaling at least one hour per week can significantly cut insomnia risk and symptoms.

Their study included about 44 hundred adults who answered questions about their exercise and sleep habits over a 10-year period.

The results showed participants who were persistently active… meaning they hit those magic workout numbers over the long haul were 42% less likely to have difficulty falling asleep and 27% less likely to have any insomnia symptoms at all.

They were also more likely to get the recommended 6-9 hours of shut-eye every night.

The authors say these findings highlight the benefits of physical activity for insomnia and show the importance of consistency in exercising over time.
